From research project to technology partner
The story of Aeroff Oy started with an applied research project. We have developed from the inventor of a solution for metalworking into a technology company with several air purification solutions for different applications. Our team combines deep expertise in aerosol physics, industrial ventilation engineering, product development and emission measurement.
2025–2026
Aeroff continues to develop new solutions together with industrial partners for demanding environments such as metalworking and combustion plants. The range of application areas is expanding into new sectors.
2024
Aeroff begins developing new technologies for different application fields, including more effective and cost-efficient removal of fine particles. Product development cooperations are established with industrial partners. New patent applications are filed.
2023
The AerOff Expert Services are launched. In the emission analysis, our experts measure harmful emissions, identify their main sources and provide prioritised recommendations for action. In the energy efficiency analysis, we map energy use and analyse where energy can be saved. First on-site assessments are carried out at leading industrial companies and smaller enterprises.
2022
Aeroff is selected as a finalist in the Start.up! Germany Tour competition.
2021
Aeroff is selected as a finalist in the Industrial Achievement of the Year competition by Business Tampere.
2019
Aeroff Oy is founded as a spin-off from Tampere University of Applied Sciences. The prototypes continue to operate in customer environments and in the FieldLab of TAMK.
2016–2018
In a follow-up project funded by Business Finland, the AerOff Solution for Machine Tools is developed and prepared for commercialisation. Three prototypes are built and installed in real customer environments. The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health carries out accredited performance measurements. The tests confirm that the target levels for harmful compounds are clearly met. Patent applications for the solution are filed.
2014–2016
An applied research project on managing exhaust air in metalworking is carried out by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (TTL), VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK). The project is initiated and co-financed by leading metal industry companies. The results show that conventional particle filters are unable to effectively capture harmful aerosol compounds. The foundation for the AerOff solution is formed during this project.
What drives us
Our mission is to redefine clean air in industrial environments. Harmful air impurities have often been accepted as unavoidable. Our technologies prove that better conditions are achievable. The AerOff Solution for Machine Tools solves a problem that has been known for a long time in the metalworking industry. We are now developing new solutions for more sectors.
Our work is based on practical experience in industrial environments. Our interdisciplinary team brings together deep expertise from different fields, which allows us to find solutions that work in real conditions. We are an independent partner and do not represent any particular manufacturer. This allows us to assess each situation objectively and recommend what is best for the current challenge. We are a member of the Indoor Air Quality ecosystem IAQe. We treat our partners, their employees and the environment responsibly. Our technologies are designed to reduce emissions and lower health risks.
Emission limits for fine particles and other pollutants are expected to tighten further in the coming years. We work to find the best solutions to help our customers meet regulatory requirements and improve workplace safety.
