SVOCs continue to be released long after metalworking

SVOCs are semi-volatile organic compounds. Some are released from metalworking fluids. They bind to dust and surfaces and are slowly released back into the air, keeping background levels higher.

SVOCs can irritate eyes, skin and airways and cause headaches. Long-term or high exposure can stress the liver and nervous system. Thermal breakdown products may increase cancer risk. Ventilation does not remove new emissions or deposits. Surfaces should be cleaned, aerosols captured at the source and machine tools should be tightly enclosed.

AerOff Expert Services reduce harmful emissions cost-effectively. The AerOff solution removes aerosols and lowers alkanolamine and TVOC levels below guideline values.
