Aeroff has a strong scientific background. The story began in 2015 with a project involving Tampere University of Applied Sciences, VTT Technology Research Centre and the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health. The project was launched on the initiative of leading companies in the Finnish metal industry. The aim of the project was to find a solution to remove harmful cutting fluid aerosols from the air. There were filters available on the market that were able to remove particles from oil mist but unable to remove harmful gaseous compounds. The first idea for the AerOff solution originates from this project.
After the completion of the first project, a second R&D project was launched in the same year to prepare the commercialisation of the AerOff solution. Tampere University of Applied Sciences and the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health were also involved in this project. Three prototypes were developed and installed in customer environments. Development work was carried out while further developing the prototypes. The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health carried out accredited measurements of the air purification results. The prototypes continue to clean the air both in customer environments and in the FieldLab machining laboratory at Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
We will continue our strong cooperation with the university community in Tampere. Aeroff is also a member of the Indoor Air Quality ecosystem IAQe.
