The Background


 

SOLUTION IS BASED ON THE RESEARCH PROJECTS


AerOff innovation is based on research project originated by Tampere University of Applied Sciences. The ultimate goal was to develop a solution for eliminating the known harmful aerosols in metal machining (CNC) environment. There wasn't any technical process or device to eliminate the gaseous aerosols, but plenty devices for filtering the particulates.

The project was set up in 2015 together with Tampere University of Applied Sciences, VTT Technical Research Center (VTT.fi) and Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (TTL.fi). Both VTT and TTL are governmental regulatory institutions. 

The project was called as 'Filtering and recycling air within CNC industry, impacts with air quality and profitability'. The starting point was to test and evaluate the cleaning performance of current devices in the markets, together with air quality measurements and possible employee exposures. Also optional methods for CNC shop air cleaning were covered. The report from the research project can be found in the list of references (Säämänen 2016).
